SEO for MSN and Google

This article focuses on some of the differences between the optimization of search engines Google and MSN. However, I have some results from Yahoo, included as a comparison.

Since most of my clients are the result of the test are Australian companies on google.com.au, msn.com.au yahoo.com.au base and selected with "only the results from Australia."

Recently I attended a client whose website was completely created in Macromedia Flash. The search engines have read little or no ability toFlash *, then this site is not found anywhere in Google. However, based on the word "make up" no "on their website was ranked No.3 in 188,984,290. The only place on the site, where all the keywords may be read by search engines, is was the meta tags.

This example shows a clear distinction between how a search engine like Google and MSN ranking websites in their lists. I decided to find some very specific test, the differences between the executionBig3 search engines and how easy or difficult it is to rank well in them.

Note: Although there are several components that make up an effective campaign of search engine optimization, seo and various blends are needed for different locations and different search engines. Can not always exactly the same mix of seo.

In this example, a site entirely in Flash created great, but held on for the results inMSN to results that are much less accurate then to say Google could return tags are filled with keywords that do not accurately reflect the theme website.

While Google places a certain importance for the header and description tags of a site, it puts more emphasis on the contents of a website. This means that if the contents are not the keywords that help you put in your meta tags, it is unlikely that the results of your meta-tags, see if your site is not reallyCompetition.

There are other important aspects such as link popularity, but the other components are not the focus of this article.

Example 1 – Flash-designed website of my client had absolutely the optimization work done elsewhere that the information in the title, description and tags with keywords, and only on the home page.

The header and title tags of which "make up" and even "make-up" is mentioned three times. In MSN search, "make up" series 3188,984,290 to get results, "Top" Series 3 26,586,615 results.

In the search for the first 100 results on Google was nowhere to be found on this website or by phrase. My further tests proved that the rankings on MSN with this method is not only specific to this example.

Example 2 – comparison between Google, MSN and Yahoo for further testing, I have to finance a completely different and more competitive industry. In this case, I have a site that is already well optimized. Ifocusing on research commonly misspelled "short-term loans Business" and began using that phrase once in the heading tags.

When I started to try this, the following were the overall results for each search term: – Google – 534 – MSN – 295 – Yahoo – 395

6. May 2006 – Added these keywords. Do not appear on that day the website of my client under the key phrase, "business loans", but in the first 100 results with MSN or Google. The key phrase above is a commonly misspelledRate for commercial loans. The correct term is currently ranked at # 3 in MSN Search.

13. May 2006 – The search term appeared on position 1 in MSN, but no results on Google's top 100.

19. May 2006 – 6 days later, no further results for that search term had appeared in Google, so that testing a step further, I added the keyword to the description.

26. May 2006 – With still shows no results on Google, I found this keyword in the anchor text of one ofLinks to the bottom of the page content.

26. May 2006 – The number 1 search term appeared in Yahoo search results.

26. May 2006 – The search term appears in Google search results on Place 6

During this time of trial, all the search engines crawl the site on a daily basis, so that the changes would have noted that during the scan.

During my test to examine some interesting results, which confirms the main highlights is the need todifferent methods with different keywords in major search engines your attention to a successful campaign of search engine optimization.

* The latest versions of Flash have settings that you change the format of the text in Flash to render HTML and let the search engines can read, but still can not work with text in a way SEO friendly.
